We sell a lot of bags to caravan and motor home owners, they like them because they're see through so you can easily find what your looking for without turning the place upside down, they're the right size for organising your packing into functions and they're easy to squeeze into small awkward places. Check them out: www.packstackplay.co.ukSent from my iPad using Tapatalk Attachments:

Hi, unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to own a van but we do use them for our tent camping trips, just have them all packed up and ready to go in the summer weekends. Bedlinen in one, cooking utensils in another, buckets and spades in another then just pack em in the car.

Good tips!
Well owning a van is not as expensive as you may think. Many of us have got 2nd hand ones or self builds.
You can pick up a reasonable 2nd hand one for £2000 or so.

Well they have 3 of those Trains ! Was told they carry 45 people but looking at some reports it says 60 . 10,000 visitors on peak days it was chaos in January they now have 2 buses running too ! You have to wonder at what idiot thought the 3 would do the job ! Bet they are paid well ?

Give them a break, English Heretics are all Oxbridge history or arch and anth grads. They are very good at spending money on shite, or having dinner parties, but when it comes to building anything or working out how many Disney trains they'll need, it's all a bit out of their league

£2,000 - can't believe that! You never know then might happen sooner rather than later. Depends on how many bags we can sell, lol. I love the idea of a self build too.

packstackplay Lotusanne got an Autosleeper legend for just over £2000 last summer. OK you are looking at a 20-25 year old van for that money, and maybe a little work to be done on the body but shop around and there are some bargains to be had. Some of these vans will go on for ever, they were built to last. Not so much this time of year for bargains but Autumn/Winter is the best. Do FMUK members get a discount on the storage boxes then? Just quote FMUK for your 10% off, LOL. We are a thrifty lot, we love discounts!

By the way, the bags on Ebay normally cost £9.00, P and P £3.00.
They come with yellow or black trim and from April, purple is offered! Size 390x340x150

Thank you you never know about the discount! Mention FMUK and email orders directly to us and not via ebay and you just never know!! Where do you buy these vans then - particular markets that you know of? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Ebay to name but one. But it is a slight risk I know. Anne got hers from Ebay. Best advice I can offer is to see the van in person, carry out a thorough inspection/test drive, test everything inside and out, pay cash and drive off there and then. There are a few scams going around where they are full of faults, or worse the van doesn't exist at all, and they try to get you to pay up front a deposit, and then depart with your cash. But yeah a van is great especially with dogs or kids, as you have a place to go out of the rain and dry off. Or at least stay out of the rain when it's bad outside. As you may know we wild camp a lot on this forum which means we don't pay site fees or very minimal site fees. So the holiday and time away is very cheap. Mostly just fuel. You can wild camp with tents or caravans, however it is a lot easier in a motorhome or camper. You've convinced me on a stack bag! I will email you but I'm after a purple one, so let me know when they are available

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news but I got 2 very similar to these, about the same length and width but deeper and without the trim but with cord handles on each end, thick heavy duty clear plastic, for £2.99, from B&M Bargains. They are so good I got another set of 2. Have had them a good few months now, used them loads, in the van for storing clothes, and at home for various other storage, without any problems.
The idea is great and is very practical in a van but I do think the price is a bit steep.

£9.00 + £3.00 P and P = £12.00 but minus FMUK discount (as yet unknown) I like the purple trim ones, but @wvw has identified a much cheaper supply for only £3.00 each. We've got a BandM home in Letchworth and a BandM bargains in Stevenage, so I'll check it out!

I can't find them on the B&M website and they've been in my local store for a while now so they are perhaps last year's stock and so supplies will vary between stores. In my local store they are located with various other storage products, such as collapsible boxes etc. I'm sure they were only £2.99 for a 2 pack, although they may have been £3.99, but still well worth it for the price. Ideal for socks, undies, dirty clothes etc.
The Packstackplay ones may be better for storing heavier items such as tins of food etc and the trim means that it perhaps keeps it's shape slightly better so I'm not rubbishing them as it's difficult to compare without actually seeing them. But I've carried several pairs of shoes and boots in mine without any problems, and found them really useful.
I'll try to think on to take some photos of mine and measure them.

That's interesting about B&M bargains. Without seeing the bags I can't confirm but would be confident enough that the PackStackPlay bags are better quality, thicker plastic and stronger around the edges so they will last longer. I understand though, if the B&M type bag meets you're needs then why pay more except for heavier items like you say. I'm happy to send you a bag and you can do a comparison for us if you like. We can always make some lower quality bags as an extra if there was a market for them. Thanks very much for letting me know as well.

Thank you, I'd be happy to do a test comparison and can produce a written report. It would be helpful to have some criteria for testing.
Next time I'm at B+M, I'll pick up another 2 pack and can send you one to have a look at and perhaps you could do a test comparison too using the same criteria as me and we can then compare the 2 reports to give a more balanced opinion.

If it was me, I was speaking in a normal tone of voice simply making what I thought was a reasonable suggestion.
Not quite sure what I said wrong.
(Note to self - keep quiet in future and stop offering to do things for other people).

Your fine wvw, just some kind of mix up. Where I come from your offer would be a normal kind of thing, where I actually live it would be a rarity and could perhaps be misinterpreted. Perhaps that's what happened

I think a comparison/review would be a great idea. Wvw wasn't being sarcastic, packstackplay, she is really good at doing written reports and reviews. Check out her other posts and you will see it

Hi, apologies for questioning your tone wvw, it's not often testing is met with such enthusiasm! I used to be a tester. Seems like we have a lot in common, wood crafts, fiddle playing... This bag review comparison would be good for us (PackStackPlay) as a form of market research so if you private message me your address I'll get a bag sent out to you with a question sheet which you can add to as you see fit. Thank you. :-)
