Yeah, I hope it stays dry, I'm picking the camper up from my parents and bringing it home so was hoping to give it a thorough check over!

LotusAnne has something very similar on the Transit, you may want to take a look at hers if you are looking to resurrect original design. This model is a very practical layout and very well thought out.

This model is a very practical layout and very well thought out. Yes, thats the one. Its all there apart from someone has removed the Zig unit and the oven! Also the fridge drains the main battery so I've got a bit of wiring to do, an oven to source and fit, gas checks and then cosmetics, cupboard doors and upholstery. I plan on using it as it is for now. I've no idea how any of it works so lots of reading up! 3 way fridges are all new to me and the boiler! I'll start a new thread once I've got it as I'll probably have lots of questions!

I've done a three way fridge so if you have any problems let me know but I think you'll be fine with it I just use mine on gas and 240. The 12v can be wired to run while driving via a relay or a manual switch, but I don't bother. 12v on fridges isn't usually very efficient. Either you leave the fridge off if only driving for 2 or 3 hours, it will retain the cold. Or you can operate it off 240 via an inverter like I do (providing split charge is on), or use the vwAlan method - leave it running on gas. In theory this is potentially risky but in practice the risk is very small. Just to be on topic, it may be the hottest day of the year so far today... 25 degrees!

Interesting vernon, what size inverter are you using and how long does it take for the fridge to get cold.

1000w.... gets cold pretty quick. 1 or 2 hours on either gas or 240v.
It's a big invertor, but gives me the flexiblity to run drills and quick use stuff like food prcoessors etc.
Weather here today quite hot now 28 degrees in the van.

Summer has really arrived - for now! It's a scorcher of a day here. We've been offered some tickets to see Neil Young at Newcastle Arena on Monday night so I'm a well happy bunny, as is Neil! He's always trying to learn Neil Young songs on his guitar

Raining now in Herts. Weekend looking cloudy with some light rain on Sat (Greywell, Hants). Better day on Sunday, but on the edge of rain bands so it may rain Sunday too.

Scorchio again. Set for 30 degrees this weekend! Sweltering here, way over 30 deg and doesn't drop below 26 deg overnight. It's hot, stuffy, airless and unbearable. Even young, fit people are suffering and developing breathing difficulties. The heat is also affecting power supplies and much of the area has had only intermittent power since Monday. A generator was brought in to assist in one repair but that broke down too. It could only happen in the UK!

Are you going for a cooling jacuzzi this weekend Wish I was closer - very tempted! It's very tempting because I'm so over-heated now and finding it hard to cool down - it's like being wrapped in an electric blanket in front of a powerful gas fire. I might go along but next time armed with Jungle Formula to ward off my attackers!

Sitting in the van drinking iced water with the turbo fan on. It's actually quite cool in here. Better than the house!

32 deg indoors away from the fans and air-con, and 53 degC recorded on the garden thermometer. It's horrible - and getting hotter by the hour.
