Lashing rain and howling winds right now. Heard a load of banging outside, just been out and retrieved a load of christmas packaging rubbish blown onto garden and drive from neighbours bins

Aye, same around here…..just picking up steam now. Back of the house is not double glazed so a bit breezy inside! Well I've been to Costco and bought a bottle of Tequila, (again!) and I rather like it, so I think a wee nip will help me through the night

Wind much worse this morning and there's a weather warning for gales up here, set to be strongest this afternoon Keep safe everybody out there in campers! NOTE: Be careful opening your van doors! BanjoBilly's rooflight was ripped off and flung across the fells by a "balloon" effect when a strong gust came just as he stepped outside ...

It's a bit breezy here, but nothing to worry about. The Eastern Counties seem to be missing the current weather problems

Not long back from a looooooooooong walk with dog. Walked through Old Oak Forest, which is an area of Scientific interest, every tree has a number tag attached. To give an idea of forest age, last commercially extracted wood, was used to build the warship, Great Michael. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_(ship)A few old tree's no totaled, or missing large branches. Same for other parts of Dukes Estate, many tree's down. Place looks different, now. Which of course, is nothing compared to flooded out homes and businesses!!

Whoosh massive winds here in Manchester. I have had to go tie down my next door neighbours huge trampoline down. The wind picked it up and drove it into a tree just as it was about to go over her fence into the road. She is expecting and staying at her mums so does not know about it yet. When I was lifting it to get a rope on it me and the trampoline nearly went over the tree and fence. Its all tied to the tree now and anchored with flags. I want to look in the van which is bobbing about like a rocking horse but dare not open the door yet. When I come up to the Bothy on Sunday I am going to fill the water tanks for extra weight, but even with full tanks no way would I travel today its wild man wild (not the one from Devon). .... Tom ....

Saw Splitty and Brenda off over an hour ago, they're on their way to Houghton-le-Spring to see a mate, towing his trailer with his logs for the burner. It is wild here, hope they make it without incident!

No way will I be going on any roofs because the way its going there won't be any left to go on. I tried to load a photo of the upside down trampoline but when I click Insert image the box just disappears into the deep unknown. I tried doing it as an attachment but that says file to big even though I've optimised it right down in size. I will have to look into it further and if I sort it I will put it up then. See ya Sunday Gaz . .... Tom ....

I'll just go. If it gets bad I'll hole up somewhere till it eases off. I can park anywhere so it's no big deal. I think there is a window at the moment though.
Edit: Just checked and it's going to be fine till Monday. Cumbria should begin to clear up after midnight as the storm moves away.
