One can either use the quote button above a post or one can copy and paste some text in between the [ quote] tags as obtained from the buttons above the full reply box - or you can do a combination of both. If you like I can go through it when we next meet and demo the various possibilities.
This post demonstrates the second method, my post above demonstrates the first.

It's worth doing a bit of selective quoting, especially if you are replying to a post with loads of pictures in it.
