We have just returned from our trip around Europe and thought we would share some of our experiences. First we have had a wonderful time just driving from one place to another with only an outline plan of where we were going.
Thanks to a book called the "Back roads of France" given to us by Minisorella (Jenny and Martin), we saw a lot of great off the beaten track places.
Just a couple of things that made life easier, a sat nav loaded with the aires, the Aires book and camper stops book for when not in France, a watering can to fill up with (thanks Martin) and a wife who can speak enough French to get you out of trouble.
The first few weeks were a bit trying as we sorted out a few little teething problems with the van, odd rattles, the bed runner breaking, loosing the filler cap to the fresh water tank and oh yes not forgetting the bottom falling out of the gas locker allowing our 2 bottles and the electric power lead to be dragged along the steep twisty road. Still we didn't lose any gas and Daiboy came to the rescue with the loan of his electric drill and some wood screws. ,We did lose the adaptors for refilling in Europe but as it turned out all the garages we went to for gpl had one so no problem.
Now we are back to winter and the old hum drum life.... until next time.
