I remember Babbacombe when I was a lad. Borrowed me dads Cortina and me and Julie drove down there for a, ahem 'romantic' weekend.
I met a car on the narrow road down to Babbacombe beach and he would not back off so I had to reverse up the steep hill, which I did, straight into a stone wall!
Them were the days!

How come you got that photo on your post? Just had hell of a time trying to insert them. The landslip occurred last year but the owners had 12 years prior warning according to the bloke I spoke to in the cafe along the way. One day the man's wife called him up at work and said "you'd better come home quick, there is a huge crack running down the centre of the house! They moved out next day. The house next door is up for sale for 25 thousand!....No offers yet apparently!

I "saved image as" from FB and then attached it in a post. Because FB compresses them when you upload they come the right size to go in a attachment... I think!

It would be interesting to know when that one is forecast to be affected. 25k could be 2 years rent for someone, and there are always risk takers!

Very tough going in this midday heat as I get past Burgh Island ....skin is leaking quite badly so have decided to split the day into early morning and early evening rides with a siesta in between! A heart leaping moment as I come around the corner from Wembury and spot my homeland across Plymouth sound And the friendly but insistent (probable) campsite owner who handed me this notice at the National Trust car park near Bolberry last week....three campsites nearby. Can anyone spot the fake?

Might not be a fake ! We have had 2 of these now from the National Trust ans know of others too ! Although I have to say ours even had the names of nearby campsites on them so if this is a fake from a campsite owner he is missing a trick ! It was the National Front OOOOps Trust ,warden who handed us our Kindly note . They make great loo paper !

will these terror tactics [mmm tictacs!haven't had any for ages] never end. I hope you explained to him just how sorry you felt. it's heart warming to know the organisation who stole our heritage from us and try to rent it back to us at prices designed to stop the poor from ever...but I digress ,bastards ! it has been warm today mind

You can't tell very well from the photo but one of the reasons I think it's a fake is that the National Trust logo at the top is blurred which makes me think it's been lifted off a computer or photo copied then magnified and the blurb added underneath. No details of fines or procedures either and the guy didn't hang around long enough for me to interrogate him with questions like "How much is it for a night on your campsite then mate?"

Right down west now reaching Mousehole today. You can tell it's silly season in Cornwall now.... Cycling halfway down the one in four hill coming into Cadgwith on Saturday I see the bottom is blocked by emmets stuffing their faces with pasties and ice cream and wandering all over the road. I want a good run up so as to get good momentum to get up the other, eaqually steep, side. So I slow down to a near stop and shout "I need a run up"....No response. So building up a good speed I scream out at the top of me voice "NO BRAKES"....well you should have seen em shift! Couldn't get up the other side though, had to get off and push! Lands End tomorrow and the last item for the bucket, then it's round the corner to St Ives and a sprint for home.

The eight compass points...North, South, Souteast, Southwest etc. Lands End is the most Southwesterly point of the British mainland and also doubles up as the last of the 14 points of the inshore shipping forecast that I've visited......A bucket list in other words, something to do other than pick me nose on those long boring cycle rides ;-)

After 6300 miles... 416 days over six wet summers and one glorious one....Three secondhand mountain bikes, thirteen tyres, three chains, sixteen innertubes and countless puncture patches. Two campervans, one temporary driver, one faithful hound, (no longer with us) and many many wonderful sights and equally wonderful and weird people encountered on the way..... .....Dawn on the last day.. Home....... Job Done!
