Where's the coldest place in the UK this winter? Attach a photo of a thermometer to your post as proof to stake your claim for the coldest place. Here in Cumbria, just down the road from Shap, it's currently minus 7 at nearly 10am but it's another glorious blue sky day - I'd much rather have this than milder sideways rain. Edit : Now that I've got my specs on, I see that it's actually minus 8, nearly minus 9 here!!

Does it count if I put the thermometer in the freezer and then stick it on the window ;D
....actually we may have a chance here as the east coast sometimes gets icy blasts funneled down the North Sea from Siberia and the Arctic

It's above zero here today for the first time in about 5 days, but we have had 2 inches of snow overnight but its now slush. I might have to only wear 2 layers of clothes today, instead of looking like the Michelin man ;-)

I hate the cold weather. I have got a chest infection already and it's only the start of December. Oh joy!
Rattle, rattle, Wheeze ... did you hear that?

Hey FF, do you need some optimism and positivity? Apparently there's a very good thread on the subject...
